Gustavo Martini
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Martini was awarded “Next Generation Designer of The Year 2017” by Wallpaper* and by Officine Panerai. His interest in the arts started at a young age with drawing, painting and building toys which naturally became his profession. During his graduation, he won the Idea Brasil Award and continued to receive media attention as a young Brazilian author. In his first year at the studio, he was invited to exhibit at Miami Art and take part in international exhibitions.
Having spent most of his life in Rio, Martini has a strong sense of connection to the city which he believes combines two contrasting worlds. This includes the metropolis with all its chaos and the gray, vertical landscape, along with the surrounding rainforest and hidden waterfalls.
Currently, Martini lives in Milan after completing a master's degree at Istituto Marangoni, where he became an I'M ambassador. Working with a strong identity, he is known for his ability to produce industrial products or art installations around the world.
His greatest passion is to create, with total freedom of expression. Martini often spends his days exploring concepts, shapes and volume to create a stripped-back, experimental language that creates a unique style that can be easily recognized.
Recently he has collaborated with Giulio Cappellini in addition to presenting a sculpture at the Venice Arsenal, he has participated in art markets such as Piasa and also ADA which is a project of the Floridi family art advisor Doria Pamphilj and has also presented an installation for Alcantara at the renowned MAXXI museum in Rome.
