Freddy Van Camp
Designer Freddy Van Camp is considered by many to be a master of his profession (something he finds a complete exaggeration) accumulating awards in his victorious career.
Graduated from ESDI (Escola Superior de Desenvolvimento Industrial) in 1968, with a postgraduate degree from UCLA-USA and HfBK Braunschweig-Germany. He worked in several companies until he established his Van Camp Design office in 1980, of which he is a founding partner. He moved to Campinas-SP from 1982 to 1992. He was a professor at UNICAMP from 1984 to 1992.
He returned to Rio de Janeiro, where he lived until 2013. He was director of ESDI for two periods, from 1992 to 1996 and from 2000 to 2004, where he still teaches. It is dedicated to product, interior, packaging, exhibition, signage and system design. He is a member of ADP, ABEDESIGN and ADG.
He is the author and translator of books on the subject. “The culture of design has been increasingly established, even without official or institutional support.
